A little spray paint....

Spray paint can go a long way...that little container holds a lot of paint! Plus it adds to much to something.  I had this cast iron bowl...heavy and nice. But I needed something lighter...not so dark black...

Don't mind the wooden table it's on...it's a piece I got at the auction... anyways...look at the detail of this bowl...it's unique -

So I just took some heirloom white paint and sprayed it down - just one coat because I wanted some of the black to shine through!!

I just love that I can change something up with just a little bit of paint!! Go get some spray paint!!!

An Old Door....

My husbands jaw just about dropped when I hauled this into the house the other day....

I sent a pic of it to my sister and she was like....WHAT are you going to do with that???!!!

I had an idea...I took these -

And a hammer...and started to nail them into the door. I figured I would be able to hang things on the door in my bedroom until I found out how to hold this heavy door on the wall as a headboard.  I just couldn't pass it up...it was $20 and so beautiful!!!

Look at that vintage detail!!! It looks like it's been painted 3 times...and I love whoever did that!

It's doing a good job of holding up my belts and scarves...I just know that it is beautiful and it was meant for me!! Yes -- I'm crazy :)

Necklace Organization

I have seen these all over blog land...so I decided to make one! I have my nekclaces all over the place, I have so many to count! I needed some good organization...so that's when I decided to make this -

I was my awesome auction on Friday night, and this beauty was going for $2...duh...purchased!!

I took a can of Heirloom White and went to town on this puppy. I only needed one coat and no need to prime it.

And the finished product...I just love how I can organize my necklaces and I can have them all there to see!

Pinterest Inspiration

I saw this on the all mighty Pinterest...the best website in the world!! I knew I just had to recreate it...here is my version.

I printed it out and put it in a frame.... the dates of our childrens births...the day we met...our wedding date.  I love it, and my husband actually noticed it and said he liked it!!  All I used was MS Word and found the fonts that I liked. I printed it on regular paper and cut it to fit in my 8x10 frame!

A Fun Toilet Paper Holder

If you like funky old things, wood and rust...then you will LOVE Funky Junk InteriorsDonna is amazing, she has an eye for things that most people can't even think of. She is a great photographer, and I want/need her to come and decorate my house!

When I saw that she made a toilet paper holder out of an old crate and license plate, I knew that I needed one as well. The step by step is so easy, and makes you hit yourself on the head thinking...why didn't I think of that!

Here is mine -

Awesome - I know!! Here's what I did. I got an old Pepsi crate at the antique store for $5 and the license was only $2.

I just took some nails and hammered the license plate onto the crate.

Easy peasy!! I love it!

Now go make your own and visit Donna's page!!

Hurricane Glass Redo

I don't have the complete step by step of how I glued the candle stick and the hurricane glass together. But both were bought at the dollar store...just put Gorilla Glue on top of the candle stick and put the glass on top of that...let it sit for 24 hours so it gets a complete bond.

I saw this on Pinterest -- they used aluminum foil for covering up the door knob when painting a door...I used this method with the candle sticks because I wanted to keep them clear for now.

I painted them an Heirloom White

Great picture...I know!
I'm sure everyone has seen these all over the web. You take rubber bands and put them over the glass, then you spray paint it. Well I decided to keep the white, and just paint over it.

I used this aqua blue color (I know..sorry...I don't remember the name of the color and I can't see it on the pic)

So I didn' thave any rubberbands, so I just used string. Sorry for the picture, this was done at night.

Spray it with the blue paint....

And enjoy your masterpeice!!

Reusable Prego Jar...AMAZING

I don't know about you all...but I love the blog eighteen25. These woman are so creative...I just love to look and see what they come up with! I saw these HERE and just knew I had to make some!!

Here is what you need... get some candle sticks from the dollar store, or any will work. Spray paint, and cleaned out jars. They used pickle jars, which are so cute...but all I had was Prego jars from spaghetti night!

The only thing that needed to be painted were the lids of the jars and the candle sticks. I only used one coat, I didn't realize glass could be spray painted so easily!! I will spray paint all glass all the time!!

After it's all dry, I put Gorilla Glue on the top of the candle stick and set the jar on top. I let it sit overnight.

I already have 2 sisters begging me to make these for them...save your jars ladies!
